Weekend #2 at Russian Recording

Posted on: July 11th, 2011 by Clayton No Comments

Another long drive and two 12+ hour days in the studio helped move the sophomore album tracks along in an awesome way. At Russian Recording this past weekend violinist Susan Kay Anderson (of Bloomington’s Community Currency) came in and totally rocked her parts on “Never Give Up, Never Give In”, “Age is Just a Number”, “Southern Town” and “Ballerina.” I couldn’t be happier with the direction of these songs and how the album is coming together. It’s a wonderful feeling to have great artists come and enhance the quality of my music.

Stay tuned for more album updates!

First Recording Session for Sophomore Album

Posted on: June 14th, 2011 by Clayton No Comments

Over the weekend I drove down to Russian Recording in Bloomington, IN to begin recording tracks for my sophomore album. Josh Morrow (drummer the Bloomington based bandĀ Memory Map) came in did an excellent job laying down drum tracks for several of the songs so now we have a rhythmic skeleton to start putting some meat on. Working long hours with sound engineer Dave Vettraino (who helped record tracks onĀ Somehow), it turned out to be a very productive weekend. I just need to catch up on some sleep now!

Stay tuned for more updates on the Sophomore album.

Spring Concert at LivingWell CRC

Posted on: March 17th, 2011 by Clayton No Comments

On March 15th I had the privilege to share my music with some children and families affected by cancer at LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. The concert was the first in a series of what I plan to be seasonal events. Everyone enjoyed a few good laughs during the kazoo jam sessions, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber requests and not to mention the delicious Portillo’s dinner donated by a member of the board. To those of you that partook in the event, I look forward to seeing you all and jamming again this summer!

3/15/11 - LivingWell Cancer Resource Center - Geneva, IL

If you or any loved ones have been affected by cancer and live near the Geneva, IL area I urge you to explore the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center website www.livingwellcrc.org. They are a non-for-profit, community based organization with a fantastic staff and a wide array of programs that apply to all ages and situations.
